Our team at Kukuza Agronegócio recently visited Sítio São Miguel, located in Serra das Cabeças, Araponga (MG). We aimed to learn more about the work of Antah Coffee, a project led by Éverton Viana. The story of Antah Coffee began with a personal turning point. After years in international business and the technology sector, Éverton felt a strong call to return to his roots. He wanted to reconnect with the land and culture of his region. This decision led him to invest in a small property, situated at about 1,300 meters above sea level. Here, his family began cultivating coffee.

The project’s name, “Antah,” comes from the Puri language, spoken by the indigenous peoples of the Zona da Mata in Minas Gerais. It means “grandfather.” This name is a tribute to his grandfather, "Vô Tãozinho," and symbolizes a connection with indigenous ancestry. It embodies values of wisdom, care, and memory.

Recognition and Quality

Since 2012, the farm has shown its potential. Over time, the coffees produced there began to gain recognition. In 2023, a sample scored 87 points in cupping, confirming that the land had something truly special to offer. More than just scores, however, Antah Coffee established itself as a brand with a clear purpose: to produce coffees that express identity, authenticity, and consciousness.

Sustainable Farming Practices

One of the most remarkable aspects of Antah Coffee is its commitment to sustainability.
