Discovering Araponga's Coffee Legacy

In August, the Kukuza Agronegócio team visited Araponga (MG), a region renowned for its rich coffee production. This trip had two main goals: to participate in the 7th Araponga Coffee Festival and to forge a strategic partnership with the Municipal Government. Together, we aim to support and transform both African and local agriculture.

Why Araponga is a Benchmark in Mountain Coffee

Situated in the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais, Araponga excels in producing specialty mountain coffees. These coffees are cultivated at high altitudes, which enhances their quality, aroma, and unique flavor. This environment attracts not only producers but also companies and specialists. They seek high-productivity strategies in coffee farming and sustainable methods to strengthen coffee cultivation.

Highlights of the 7th Araponga Coffee Festival

The festival is a significant event in the region, uniting producers, companies, and coffee enthusiasts. Among the highlights of the program:

A lecture titled "Strategies for High Productivity in Mountain Coffee" was delivered by Gustavo Rennó. He is an agronomist, producer, and influencer. In this session, practical techniques were shared to boost productivity in mountain areas. It demonstrated that tradition and innovation can coexist in coffee farming.

An Award-Winning Story: Matheus Sanglard

Matheus Sanglard, an agronomist and entrepreneur from Sanglard Cafés Especiais, shared his family's journey in coffee. He discussed the processes and challenges they faced, culminating in the Ernesto ILLY Award for Best Coffee in the World 2024. This achievement places Brazil and Araponga's specialty coffee in the international spotlight. You can check the Talk Show on their Instagram:

Participating in the 7th Festival do Café de Araponga was more than an institutional milestone. It was an experience of learning, knowledge exchange, and building connections. These connections strengthen the future of coffee in Africa. Kukuza Agronegócio remains committed to cultivating knowledge and harvesting results alongside the producers who make Brazilian coffee a global reference.

The Future of Coffee Farming

The future of coffee farming is bright, especially with initiatives like those from Kukuza Agronegócio. By focusing on education and sustainable practices, we can ensure that coffee production remains viable for generations to come.
